Obsessive Compulsive Disorder/ Obsession

According to the National Institute of mental health, 2.2 million americans have obsessive compulsive disorder. This type of anxiety disorder can affect both children and adults. I think every person is differnt though, from my own experience, mine really peaks out at different times. During my first pregnancy it really peaked, but with my last two pregnancies it was so much better.

I believe that there really is hope for those with OCD. The meds I am on now are actually helping my obsessions. There are so many people out there suffering with OCD and just choose to ignore it, they are just hurting themselves. Why live this way? Especially if you do not have too.

So my doctor put me on prozac, hopefully it will help my ocd and depression. I have been on it for about 2 weeks and it seems to help alittle, my doctor said I will not see a big difference for a few months. I so tired of feeling like this. I don't want it to rub off on my kids, my son is starting to wash his hands alot he said they feel sticky.

Hate the feeling of having to check things over and over again, I can't stand that feeling. I check my alarm clock at least fifty times before bed. I have an obsession about germs also, I wash my hands constantly through out the day. I excessively worry about things that are out of my control, it literally drives me nuts. So many people I know have some form of it, so Iam not alone, but sometimes it feels as if I am.
